Steve Bruce has named an unchanged starting XI as Newcastle United take on Brighton & Hove Albion in their first Premier League home game of the season.

Following an impressive opening day win at West Ham United, the Magpies will be aiming to win their first two opening Premier League fixtures for the first time since 1997 and Bruce has opted for the same starting line-up which secured maximum points in the capital last week.

Callum Wilson and Jeff Hendrick, who both netted on their first United starts against the Hammers, will make their home debuts this afternoon as well as defender Jamal Lewis.

Goalkeeper Karl Darlow keeps his place in between the sticks, with Javier Manquillo, Jamaal Lascelles, Federico Fernández and Lewis making up a four-man backline.

Jonjo Shelvey and Isaac Hayden remain together in central midfield, with Hendrick, and Allan Saint-Maximin out on the flanks once again. Andy Carroll will lead the line for United alongside Wilson.

The Magpies' substitutes list includes one change from Saturday's victory against the Hammers, with Ciaran Clark, who played the full 90 minutes of United's Carabao Cup victory against Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday night, on the bench in place of Sean Longstaff.

Newcastle United: Karl Darlow; Javier Manquillo, Jamaal Lascelles (c), Federico Fernández, Jamal Lewis; Jeff Hendrick, Jonjo Shelvey, Isaac Hayden, Allan Saint-Maximin; Andy Carroll, Callum Wilson.

Substitutes: Mark Gillespie, Emil Krafth, Ciaran Clark, Matt Ritchie, Ryan Fraser, Miguel Almirón, Joelinton.
