Jonjo Shelvey has returned from injury to take his place in midfield for Newcastle United’s Premier League game against Southampton on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

The 25-year-old will start for Rafa Benítez’s side at St. James’ Park, having recovered from the knee injury which kept him out of last weekend’s defeat at Liverpool.

February’s FUN88 Player of the Month Martin Dúbravka continues in goal, with DeAndre Yedlin, captain Jamaal Lascelles, Florian Lejeune and Paul Dummett making up the back four.

Matt Ritchie steps up to start on the right-hand side of midfield, with Shelvey back to partner Mo Diamé in the middle and Chelsea loanee Kenedy on the left.

And Ayoze Pérez will provide support for lone frontman Dwight Gayle.

Karl Darlow, Javier Manquillo and Ciaran Clark are named on the bench, along with Mikel Merino.

Wingers Jacob Murphy and Christian Atsu, as well as forward Joselu, compete the list of substitutes for the clash with the Saints.
