Newcastle United head coach Steve Bruce has named an unchanged side ahead of Wednesday's Premier League visit of Sheffield United, with Paul Dummett set to make his 200th appearance for the Magpies (kick-off 6pm).

Steve Bruce's side welcome the Blades to St. James' Park for their penultimate game of the season and will also be backed by thousands of home supporters for the first time since February 2020.

Goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka continues in between the sticks behind a five-man defence containing wing-backs Jacob Murphy and Matt Ritchie, with Dummett, Emil Krafth - who scored his first goal for the Magpies in last week's defeat against Manchester City - and Federico Fernández lining up at the heart of United's defence.

Jonjo Shelvey captains the hosts this evening and will play alongside Joe Willock, who is targeting a sixth consecutive goal in as many matches, in the middle of the park.

Allan Saint-Maximin, who has scored in his last two games against Sheffield United, and Miguel Almirón will provide support for Joelinton, who scored his first Premier League goal at St. James' Park against the Blades during a 3-0 win back in June.

The bench is also unchanged from Friday's 4-3 defeat against Man City, with attacking duo Dwight Gayle and Andy Carroll available to deploy while midfield trio Sean Longstaff, Jeff Hendrick and Matty Longstaff are further reinforcements.

Newcastle United: Martin Dúbravka, Jacob Murphy, Emil Krafth, Federico Fernández, Paul Dummett, Matt Ritchie, Jonjo Shelvey (c), Joe Willock, Miguel Almirón, Allan Saint-Maximin, Joelinton.

Substitutes: Mark Gillespie, Javier Manquillo, Ciaran Clark, Jamal Lewis, Matty Longstaff, Jeff Hendrick, Sean Longstaff, Dwight Gayle, Andy Carroll.
