Graeme Jones has handed a start to Ryan Fraser in his first game in interim charge of Newcastle United at Crystal Palace on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

Fraser comes into the starting 11 in place of Joelinton for his first start of the season, in the one of just two changes made by Jones to the Magpies side that lost to Tottenham Hotspur at St. James’ Park last weekend.

The other alteration sees Emil Krafth come into the line-up, with Joe Willock dropping to the bench.

Karl Darlow continues in goal, with Javier Manquillo, Emil Krafth, Jamaal Lascelles, Ciaran Clark and Matt Ritchie in front of him.

Sean Longstaff will again partner Isaac Hayden in central midfield, while Scotland winger Fraser and Allan Saint-Maximin will provide support for Callum Wilson in attack.

Willock, Joelinton, Miguel Almirón and Dwight Gayle provide attacking reinforcements for Jones’ side, should they be required at Selhurst Park.

United are also well-stocked defensively for their trip to the capital, with Jacob Murphy, Fabian Schär and Jamal Lewis also named on the bench.

Midfielder Jeff Hendrick and goalkeeper Mark Gillespie complete the list of substitutes as Newcastle go in search of a first win of the campaign at the home of Patrick Vieira’s new-look Eagles side.

Newcastle United: Karl Darlow; Javier Manquillo, Emil Krafth, Jamaal Lascelles, Ciaran Clark, Matt Ritchie; Sean Longstaff, Isaac Hayden; Ryan Fraser, Callum Wilson, Allan Saint-Maximin.

Substitutes: Mark Gillespie, Jacob Murphy, Fabian Schär, Jamal Lewis, Jeff Hendrick, Joe Willock, Miguel Almirón, Joelinton, Dwight Gayle.
