In total, Steve Bruce has made four changes to the side which drew against another West London outfit, Fulham, in the Premier League on Saturday, with Isaac Hayden and Jamal Lewis also returning. Paul Dummett, Federico Fernández, Joelinton and Matt Ritchie drop out, though the latter two do make the bench.
Hayden can be expected to line up at centre half, alongside Ciaran Clark, with Lewis taking up his usual left-back role. DeAndre Yedlin starts on the right, with Sean Longstaff and Jonjo Shelvey in central midfield.
Fraser and Murphy, meanwhile, will look to support frontman Callum Wilson and fellow attacker Miguel Almirón.
Bruce has a number of forward players to call upon from the bench if need be, with Andy Carroll and Dwight Gayle both named among United’s list of substitutes. The Magpies’ head coach will hope that Clark and Hayden come through unscathed, though, with no further central defenders making the squad.
