Martin Dúbravka has been handed his first Premier League start of the season ahead of Newcastle United's visit of Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday night (kick-off 8pm).

The Slovakian goalkeeper featured in between the sticks for the Magpies' Emirates FA Cup defeat at Arsenal last month but makes his first appearance of the 2020/21 league campaign this evening in place of Karl Darlow.

The 32-year-old shot-stopper is the only change from United's 3-1 away defeat at Manchester United last week, with captain Jamaal Lascelles and Ciaran Clark continuing at the heart of defence along with full-backs Emil Krafth and Jamal Lewis, who occupy the right and left flanks respectively.

Jonjo Shelvey, who celebrates his 29th birthday today, will partner Isaac Hayden in the middle of the park along with Joe Willock, who scored on his home debut against Southampton three weeks ago.

Miguel Almirón, targeting a fourth goal in as many fixtures at St. James' Park, and Allan Saint-Maximin will provide support for Joelinton in attack.

Bruce has a number of attacking options on the substitutes' bench, including strikers Dwight Gayle and Andy Carroll as well as wingers Ryan Fraser and Jacob Murphy, who scored a late free-kick during the Magpies' 1-1 draw at Molineux in October.

Newcastle United: Martin Dúbravka, Emil Krafth, Jamaal Lascelles (c), Ciaran Clark, Jamal Lewis, Jonjo Shelvey, Isaac Hayden, Joe Willock, Miguel Almirón, Allan Saint-Maximin, Joelinton.

Substitutes: Karl Darlow, Paul Dummett, Matt Ritchie, Sean Longstaff, Jeff Hendrick, Jacob Murphy, Ryan Fraser, Dwight Gayle, Andy Carroll.
