Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has named a strong starting 11 for Saturday's clash with Yokohama F. Marinos, with Bruno Guimarães captaining the side and summer signing Lloyd Kelly making his debut for the Magpies.

United face the Japanese outfit at the Japan National Stadium in Tokyo in their second and final match of the 'J.League International Series 2024 powered by docomo', and will be looking to round off their trip with another victory following Wednesday's 4-1 triumph over Urawa Red Diamonds.

Howe's men will wear their new adidas third kit for the first time against last season's J.League runners-up.

Odyseass Vlachodimos starts in goal for the first time since his move from Nottingham Forest, with Tino Livramento, Fabian Schär, Kelly and Lewis Hall in front of him in defence.

Sean Longstaff, Guimarães and Joelinton form a familiar-looking midfield trio, with Miguel Almirón and Harvey Barnes on the right and left flanks respectively either side of Alexander Isak in attack.

There are plenty of options for Howe to call upon from the bench, with two goalkeepers - Nick Pope and John Ruddy - named, along with defenders Harrison Ashby, Emil Krafth, Dan Burn, Cathal Heffernan and Jamal Lewis.

Jamie Miley, Jay Turner-Cooke and Alfie Harrison are also among the substitutes, with Jacob Murphy, Trevan Sanusi and Ben Parkinson providing some attacking backup.
