Sven Botman will make his Premier League debut for Newcastle United at Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon

United take on the Seagulls at the Amex Stadium looking for another win after last weekend's victory over Nottingham Forest kick-started their campaign.

And summer acquisition Botman, who joined from Lille in June, has been handed his first competitive start by head coach Eddie Howe, with the Dutchman expected to slot in alongside Fabian Schär in central defence.

Botman's inclusion in the line-up is Howe's only alteration from the Magpies side that saw off Forest a week ago, with Matt Targett dropping out and former Brighton stopper Dan Burn set to fill in at left back.

Nick Pope continues in goal, with Kieran Trippier wearing the captain's armband at right back and the aforementioned trio of Schär, Botman and Burn completing the back four.

In midfield, Joe Willock and Joelinton are again deployed either side of Bruno Guimarães, with Allan Saint-Maximin and Miguel Almirón on the flanks.

And Callum Wilson will lead the line for United on the south coast as Howe's men look to make it six points from their first two games.

Jamaal Lascelles has recovered from the knock which kept him out of last weekend's curtain-raiser and is named on the bench, with Paul Dummett, Matt Ritchie and Javier Manquillo the other defensive reinforcements.

Further forward, Howe could opt to call upon the services of Sean Longstaff, Elliot Anderson, Jacob Murphy and Chris Wood, while Martin Dúbravka is the substitute goalkeeper.

Substitutes: Martin Dúbravka, Javier Manquillo, Jamaal Lascelles, Paul Dummett, Matt Ritchie, Sean Longstaff, Elliot Anderson, Jacob Murphy, Chris Wood.
