Newcastle United maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Harvey Barnes swept the Magpies into a first half lead at St. James' Park, but Spurs rallied after the break and levelled through Dan Burn's own goal.

But United mustered a response towards the end, with Joelinton freeing substitute Jacob Murphy, who in turn found Alexander Isak to tap home the winner and give Eddie Howe's side a second home win of the campaign.

There was also a pre-match Wor Flags display in honour of the returning Sandro Tonali, who came off the bench to make his first Premier League appearance since the expiration of his ten-month suspension, while former Magpies favourite Nobby Solano was introduced to the crowd at half time. Take a look at this newcastleunited.com gallery from Serena Taylor from what was another successful afternoon for those in black and white.
