Saint-Maximin won the Premier League Goal of the Month prize in August following the Frenchman's stunning stoppage-time volley during a 1-1 draw away at Wolverhampton Wanderers and has been shortlisted for the award.
The tricky winger latched onto an intended clearance during the final stages at Molineux before his delightful first-time effort from the edge of the penalty area nestled into the bottom right-hand corner.
Almirón has also received a nomination for his first of two goals in a 4-1 away victory against Fulham in October. The Paraguayan forward, who won the Premier League Player of the Month award for October after scoring six goal in as many matches, raced onto Bruno Guimarães' high pass before directing a spectacular volley into the far left-hand corner.
The Magpies pair feature on a nine-man shortlist, which include Brentford's Ivan Toney, Jonny and Matheus Nunes of Wolves, Demarai Gray of Everton and Crystal Palace's Michael Olise.
Fulham's Willian and Julio Enciso of Brighton & Hove Albion complete the shortlist.
