The Magpies travel to Merseyside targeting a third successive Premier League victory following home triumphs over Chelsea and Manchester United respectively and this will be the second time the West Sussex official will officiate a game involving Newcastle this term.

Promoted to the Select Group 1 for the 2023/24 campaign, Robinson took charge of Newcastle’s 4-0 win against Crystal Palace in October, booking five players at St. James’ Park including Kieran Trippier and Sean Longstaff.

Robinson, who made his Premier League debut as a referee during Newcastle’s 1-0 defeat at Burnley during the 2019/20 campaign, has overseen 14 matches so far this term and handed out a total of 61 yellow cards but is yet to brandish a red card.
