Newcastle United Women are pleased to announce the signing of goalkeeper Hannah Reid

The 28-year-old boasts plenty of experience, having come through the ranks at Bristol City Women, playing for Hibernian Women in her native Scotland, and also representing Durham Women.

Reid had previously been picked for Scotland's under-15s, under-17s and under-19s sides too, and arrives at Newcastle eager to impress in the famous black and white stripes.

"I'm motivated and excited to be involved with Newcastle and such a great squad of players and staff," she told nufc.co.uk upon signing.

"I have immediately felt welcome, and I am inspired by the ambition. It's something I want to be part of, to help the team and club achieve collectively.

"On a personal level, my goal is to continue to develop and improve which in turn should assist my fellow team-mates.

"I'm excited to be welcomed into another goalkeeper's union under Chris (Stygal) and work with the talented Grace (Donnelly), Ellie (Brown) and Frankie (Hackett). I look forward to the future with this group."

United Women manager Becky Langley believes Reid brings valuable experience to the club and further bolsters her squad, adding that she is excited to work with the 'keeper.

She said: "I'm delighted Hannah is joining Newcastle United Women. Her professionalism and hard work ethic has stood out from the minute I met with her.

"She's a great leader and a goalkeeper who has had international experience as well as playing at high level with Durham, Hibs and Bristol City. I'm very excited for Hannah's long term future at the club."
