Newcastle United Women will back Stonewall's Rainbow Laces campaign during Sunday's Barclays Women's Championship clash against Southampton Women at St. James' Park.

Clubs across the Barclays Women's Super League and Championship will unite to celebrate the LGBTQ+ inclusion initiative, demonstrating their ongoing support for the charity and a year-round commitment to equality and inclusion work.

The Magpies' match against Southampton Women will see team captains take to the pitch wearing specially designed rainbow armbands, with branding on corner flags also serving as important messages of support.

Using the power of football to encourage discussion and display allyship, the campaign aims to place a spotlight on how the sport has progressed to become more inclusive, while highlighting the need for ongoing work to create safe spaces for members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Newcastle United continues to work with supporters' groups from diverse backgrounds, including United With Pride, through a number of engagement events and initiatives encompassed by the club's equality, diversity and inclusion campaign United As One.

If discriminatory behaviour is witnessed whilst attending a match, please report this immediately, where possible, by contacting the nearest steward.
