The power of community is benefiting more than 4,100 young people, families and older generations brought together by Newcastle United Foundation and Newcastle United Supporters' Trust (NUST).

Thousands of visits have been made to the NUST Room which provides a flexible base for community activities within the Foundation's central hub, NUCASTLE, five minutes' walk from St. James' Park.

NUST members voted overwhelmingly in favour of donating more than £200,000 raised through the 1892 Pledge scheme two years ago, sharing the sum between North East charities including the Alan Shearer Foundation, The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, Newcastle Foodbank and Newcastle United Foundation.

The donation allowed the official charity arm of Newcastle United to create the NUST Room - an adaptable space open to the community, schools, colleges and universities, businesses and Foundation participants of all ages to enjoy classroom-based activities.

Steve Beharall, Newcastle United Foundation CEO, said: "Newcastle United Supporters' Trust generosity has created real, positive change for our region by providing an inspirational space for learning, recreation and play within the Foundation's home.

"Trust members can be assured their donation continues to play a significant role in providing life-changing opportunities for our community and they have built a legacy for generations of Foundation participants and Newcastle United supporters. I would like to extend a personal thank you to each Trust member and the Board for making our charity work possible."

Throughout last season, the NUST Room received more than 1,500 hours of bookings across 295 days and hosted Newcastle United players visiting NUCASTLE including Sandro Tonali, Dan Burn, Sean Longstaff and Mark Gillespie.

Paul Karter, Newcastle United Supporters' Trust Chair, said: "We are incredibly proud to support Newcastle United Foundation and the community through the NUST Room.

"Our members' generosity reflects our commitment to creating positive change for young people, families, and the wider region.

"Together, we're building a legacy that will benefit generations of Newcastle United supporters and make a real difference in people's lives."

NUCASTLE is open seven days a week, 8am to 9.30pm, providing a range of free to access programmes for participants of all ages and abilities.

Throughout the day, the fully accessible NUST Room is used to deliver Foundation programmes including employability work to support young adults into careers through apprenticeships, employment and training. The charity's free health and wellbeing sessions also take place within the NUST Room, followed by Family Zone in the evening providing a warm space for the NE4 community to enjoy free activity after school.
