The promising 17-year-old, who was named on the bench for United's Carabao Cup final victory against Liverpool, enjoyed a bright month in front of goal after recording two goals and two assists in as many league matches at second-string level.
The Winlaton-born teenager scored from the penalty spot in United's 2-0 away win against Middlesbrough before the England Under-18 international registered a goal and two assists during the young Magpies' 3-2 comeback win against Nottingham Forest last week.
Nominated alongside Neave are Middlesbrough's Shea Connor, Tottenham Hotspur pair Reiss Denny and Jaden Williams, Blackburn Rovers' Nicholas Michalski, Hindolo Mustapha of Crystal Palace, Arsenal's Michal Rosiak and Emre Tezgel of Stoke City.
The winner will be announced at 10am (BST) on Friday, 11th April.
