Eddie Howe's side face Thomas Frank's Bees in West London this weekend, bidding for a fifth consecutive Premier League victory, and this will be the first time Kavanagh has officiated a fixture involving the Magpies this term.

The 37-year-old, who hails from Greater Manchester, was the man in the middle for Newcastle's 1-0 away victory at Leeds United last season, booking a total of six players that afternoon including Paul Dummett and Allan Saint-Maximin.

Appointed to FIFA's international referees list in 2019, Kavanagh oversaw Newcastle's 1-1 draw away at West Ham United in February 2022, booking Emil Krafth, Dan Burn and Ryan Fraser, as well as the Magpies' 3-0 away win against Norwich City, booking Bruno Guimarães and Saint-Maximin during a convincing display at Carrow Road.
