Andre Marriner will referee Newcastle United's Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon (12.30pm GMT kick-off)

The Magpies travel to Wembley Stadium to face Spurs, with the Birmingham-born official the man in the middle for the lunchtime kick-off as Rafa Benítez's side go in search of a third successive league victory.

The 48-year-old, who has officiated in the top flight since 2004, has taken charge of three of United's Premier League fixtures this term - home defeats against Manchester United and Brighton and the goalless draw at Crystal Palace.

In total, Marriner has brandished 65 yellow cards and three red cards in all competitions this season, sending off Wilfried Zaha in Crystal Palace's 1-1 draw at Southampton on Wednesday.

He will be assisted by Simon Long and Sian Massey-Ellis, while Lee Probert will be the fourth official.
