The Magpies enter the competition at the second round stage along with the other 12 Premier League teams that aren't competing in European competition this term, as well as Burnley and Luton Town.
The competition is regionalised, with a northern and southern section, until the third round.
Eddie Howe's side reached the final in 2022/23, when they were beaten by Manchester United at Wembley, and then made it to the quarter-finals last season before losing to Chelsea on penalties at Stamford Bridge.
Newcastle United's ball number will be confirmed on Wednesday morning. All second round ties are due to be played on the week beginning Monday, 26th August.
