The Magpies secured the FA Women's National League Northern Premier Division title and promotion last weekend thanks to a 10-0 victory against Huddersfield Women at Kingston Park.

With two games remaining this season, United are looking to finish off the season in style and ahead of the trip to the Clayborn Ground, Stobbs told newcastleunited.com she is keen to ensure she and her teammates continue to make the fans and club proud.

"It's another game of football and I think we're even more focused on this one," she said.

"As a group I don't expect us to drop off in the next two games - we don't want to look back on the season and see we lost our last two games.

"It does keep going around my head that I'm going to be playing the Championship with Newcastle United, but we've got to stay focused on our next two games.

"Our celebrations were on Sunday and that's it until the end of the season, because we've still got a job to do."

"We've got individual and team targets that we want to meet and it's so important that we keep making the club and our fans proud."

Becky Langley's side became the very first team to go full-time in the National League this season and they've more than reaped the rewards, with more contact time and training sessions allowing them to push on and secure a second consecutive league title.

And Stobbs is hopeful that more clubs will take a leaf out of Newcastle’s book and decide to invest more heavily in their women's teams moving forward.

"As a club, I hope we've set an example to other football clubs as to what happens when you do support women's football," she added.

"The club have backed us so much this season and it's not just from a financial point of view but just from them being here and showing they truly believe in us.

"I know not everyone is as lucky to have that, but hopefully some other clubs will soon jump on board and support their teams."
