Chris Kavanagh will be the referee for Newcastle United's Premier League trip to Norwich City on Saturday afternoon (kick-off 3pm BST).

The Magpies make the 516-mile round-trip to Carrow Road this weekend to face Dean Smith's side and this will be the third time Kavanagh has officiated a game involving the Magpies this term.

The 36-year-old was the man in the middle for Newcastle's 1-0 away win at Leeds United in January, booking six players at Elland Road, including Paul Dummett and Allan Saint-Maximin.

The Lancashire official also took charge of the Magpies' 1-1 draw at West Ham United in February, handing out six yellow cards at the London Stadium, booking Dan Burn, Emil Krafth and Ryan Fraser.

In the 22 games Kavanagh has refereed so far this season, he has dished out a total of 84 yellow cards as well as three red cards. He sent off Ezri Konsa during Aston Villa's 4-1 home defeat against West Ham United and Everton's Mason Holgate during the Toffees' goalless draw against Tottenham Hotspur.

On Saturday, Kavanagh will be assisted by Marc Perry and Matthew Wilkes while James Linington will be the fourth official.

Simon Hooper will be the Video Assistant Referee and will be aided by Wade Smith.
