The Swedish frontman was in magnificent form for the Magpies in the final month of 2024, registering eight goals and two assists in six league matches.
Isak, who scored in all six of his December appearances, was on target in Newcastle's thrilling 3-3 draw against Liverpool, opening the scoring with an unstoppable drive against the Premier League leaders, before scoring United's first goal during a 4-2 defeat away at Brentford.
After recording a goal and assist during a 4-0 home win against Leicester City at St. James' Park, Isak became the first Newcastle player since Ayoze Pérez in 2019 to score a hat-trick after a clinical treble against Ipswich Town before rounding off a goal-laden month with efforts against Aston Villa and Manchester United.
Isak is shortlisted for the award alongside fellow Magpie Jacob Murphy, Liverpool duo Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah, Morgan Gibbs-White of Nottingham Forest, AFC Bournemouth's Dean Huijsen, Cole Palmer of Chelsea and Fulham's Antonee Robinson.
