Newcastle United have won the Utilita Performance of the Week award for last Sunday's superb 2-1 win at Tottenham Hotspur

First half strikes from Callum Wilson and Miguel Almirón proved decisive for the Magpies despite Harry Kane's second half consolation for the hosts in North London, with the victory taking Eddie Howe's men up to fourth in the Premier League table.

And ahead of Saturday's clash with Aston Villa at St. James' Park, head coach Howe will receive the trophy in recognition of his side's victory over Antonio Conte's charges in the capital.

A League Managers Association panel comprising Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Rachel Yankey, Clare Tomlinson, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry - as well as former Magpies hero Les Ferdinand and ex-boss Chris Hughton - selected Newcastle's display as the worthy winner of the long-running award.

United's fine form under Howe this term has seen them win five and draw six of their opening 12 league matches, leaving them just seven points behind current leaders Arsenal.
