For the second season in succession, Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe has been nominated for the Premier League's Barclays Manager of the Season award.

After steering the Magpies away from the relegation zone last term, following an 11th placed finish, Howe has guided Newcastle into third place of the Premier League table this season, guaranteeing a top-six finish with three games remaining.

The former AFC Bournemouth boss, who reached a landmark of 250 Premier League appearances as a manager during last month’s 3-1 win against Southampton at St. James' Park, will be aiming to set Newcastle on course for their best finishing position in the English top-flight since 2002/03, claiming third spot under Sir Bobby Robson's management.

Howe features on a six-man shortlist for the award alongside Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, Mikel Arteta of Arsenal, Aston Villa manager Unai Emery, Roberto De Zerbi of Brighton & Hove Albion and Fulham’s Marco Silva.

The winner will be announced on Tuesday, 30th May, with voting now open here and closing at 12pm (BST) on Monday, 22nd May.
