Harvey Barnes secures fans Player of the Match vote after brace against Manchester United.

Newcastle United moved into the top four with a huge victory at home, securing a 4-1 win over Manchester United at St. James' Park.

Sandro Tonali opened the scoring for Newcastle in the first half, before Alejandro Garnacho levelled for Manchester United in the 37th minute.

Coming back out from half time, 27-year-old Harvey Barnes was the star of the show, and secured the fans Player of the Match vote across newcastleunited.com with a huge 57% of the vote.

Barnes put the Magpies back ahead in the, as Tino Livramento eased past Diogo Dalot and his deep, low cross was kept in by Jacob Murphy at the back post.

Murphy then found Barnes who'd made a run towards net, and he was on hand to fire in from four yards out.

Barnes added his second of the match, capitalising on a slip by Noussair Mazraoui, before picking up the ball and shifting through the gears. His run took him right through the middle of the Manchester United centre halves and his finish was magnificent, arrowed into the top right-hand corner in front of the Gallowgate End.

The fourth was gifted to Bruno Guimarães by Bayındır, who inadvertently played the ball straight to Joelinton. The Brazilian was alert and intercepted the attempted pass, nodding the ball straight to his captain, who rolled home with confidence to wrap things up.

And fans loved the performance of Sandro Tonali, who dominated midfield and dominated the Player of the Match vote across newcastleunited.com and the Official Newcastle United App, with 40% of the vote.

Barnes beat Sandro Tonali (37%), Kieran Trippier (3%) and Jacob Murphy (2%) to take home the fan voted honours.
