The young Magpies host their Fishermen counterparts at Whitley Park in their second of six Group F fixtures following a 1-1 draw away at Huddersfield Town in their opening group game.
Following three successive 1-1 draws in all competitions, Diallo - who joined United’s youth set-up in October 2022 following his departure from boyhood club West Ham United - is keen to record maximum points ahead of facing the Cods’ second-string.
The 20-year-old, who plays primarily on the left wing, told nufc.co.uk: “We’re looking to get a win on the board and continue our good start in the competition which will bring us confidence going into the upcoming games.
“We’re working hard to turn the draws into victories because we’ve been playing well in the last few games and it’s important to get three points so we can gain more belief going forward.
“I felt like we dominated the game against Nottingham Forest last week and should have taken our chances to get the win but, unfortunately, we didn’t on the night.
“If you don’t concede, you always have a great chance to win matches so it’s very important to make sure we keep playing our game when we go one-nil up and hopefully next time, we can score more goals."
Fleetwood compete in the Professional Development League Group North, currently occupying sixth spot in the table following three wins in their opening seven matches.
Diallo is expecting a difficult test against the Lancashire-based outfit but believes playing on home soil will be a beneficial factor ahead of this weekend’s cup tie.
“I think it will be a physical team, hard-working and good at set-pieces so we need to be ready for anything that comes our way. We need to be on top of our game from minute one.
“We’ve got the advantage of playing at home so we need to make the most of it."
