The FES framework, which all Premier League clubs follow, allows Newcastle United to deliver its individual approach to fan engagement, which has seen the football club create a number of initiatives for supporters in both the UK and overseas during the 2023/24 season.
Over the last year, the football club has delivered on its FES commitment, which has included a number of supporter events attended by CEO Darren Eales, as well as men’s and women’s head coaches Eddie Howe and Becky Langley.
Digital events with players past and present have united supporters across the world, whilst consultation workshops have been delivered globally, held in Newcastle, the USA and Australia during overseas camps.
Further feedback and strategic engagement has been enhanced through the club’s Fan Advisory Board (FAB) which was created last year.
Through the creation of the FAB, Newcastle United is able to consult and engage with fans, creating structured and strategic dialogue in relation to off-field matters, allowing assistance to the club in decision making that affects supporters. Wider supporter engagement has also seen the club work with a number of independent supporter groups such as NUST, United With Pride and NUDSA.
Newcastle United CEO, Darren Eales, said: "Everybody at Newcastle United knows how important a role our supporters play in making this a special football club.
“Our Fan Engagement Review highlights our successes during the 2023/24 season, ensuring supporters are consulted across a number of initiatives during this exciting time for our football club.
“It is our collective ambition to bring success to Newcastle United, both on and off the pitch and our supporters are key to making sure we deliver on our goals.”
The football club’s Fan Engagement Statement is that ‘we are committed to collaborative, constructive and consistent engagement with supporters, wherever they may be, ensuring fans have an opportunity to inform the club’s decision-making at all levels.’ To see the full FES report, please click here.
