The date and venue for Newcastle United Under-18s' FA Youth Cup fourth round visit of Colchester United has been confirmed.

Peter Ramage's youngsters advanced past West Ham United in the third round of the competition following a 3-2 win in the capital, courtesy of Michael Ndiweni's brace and Jay Turner-Cooke's finish.

Their reward is a home draw against the U's, who claimed a 3-0 win over Arsenal in round three, with the fourth round clash to be played at Whitley Park on Monday, 17th January, with kick-off set for 7pm (GMT).

The Toon teenagers reached the quarter-final stage last term for the first time since 2016/17 before losing 6-1 to eventual winners Aston Villa at St. James' Park.

The young Magpies will be aiming to lift the prestigious trophy for a third time in the club's history after tasting success in 1962 before a side including Geordie midfielder Paul Gascoigne, lifted the cup in 1985.
