The draw will take place live on talkSPORT at 12.30pm (BST) and the young Magpies, one of 16 Category One academy teams invited to compete in the competition this season, will be placed into their respective groups along with three EFL clubs from League One and League Two.
Last term, Newcastle's second-string enjoyed an impressive run to the last 16 in the 64-team competition, achieving a 100 per cent winning record in Group G following away wins against Doncaster Rovers, Notts County and Grimsby Town.
United also defeated Macclesfield Town via penalties in the second round at St. James' Park before suffering a 4-0 defeat against eventual finalists Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
The opening round of fixtures are due to take place on the week commencing Monday, 2nd September, with the competition split into northern and southern sections up until the semi-final stages.
