Martin Dúbravka will make his 100th appearance for Newcastle United at Leicester City this evening, and has described playing for the Magpies as a "privilege"

The Slovakian shot-stopper won the club's player of the season award last term and returned to the side in February after missing the first few months of the current campaign through injury.

Until then, he had been an ever-present in the Premier League since keeping a clean sheet on his debut against Manchester United in February 2018. Indeed, 97 of his 99 appearances - all starts - have come in the top flight, with two in the FA Cup.

"It is an amazing feeling," he told nufc.co.uk ahead of his milestone game at the King Power Stadium. "It is such a privilege to represent a club like this.

"I can't believe how quickly it seems to have happened - just like 'click!'.

"It feels as if I just joined the club and then all of a sudden it's 100 appearances, which is massive for me - a massive success - and I hope that there are some other interesting games in front of me as well."

The former Sparta Prague goalkeeper, 32, joined Newcastle in January 2018 and signed a new six-year contract in October 2019.
