David Coote will be the referee for Newcastle United's first Premier League away fixture of the 2024/25 season against AFC Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon (kick-off 2pm BST).

The Magpies make the lengthy trip to the South coast to face Andoni Iraola's side at the Vitality Stadium and this will be the first time Coote has officiated a fixture involving the Magpies since April 2023.

Coote was the man in the middle for Newcastle's 6-1 thrashing of Tottenham Hotspur during the 2023/24 campaign, handing out three yellow cards during a thrilling afternoon at St. James' Park whilst booking no United players.

The Nottinghamshire official also oversaw the Magpies' 2023 Carabao Cup final defeat at Wembley Stadium, with Eddie Howe's side beaten 2-0 by Manchester United.

In the 16 Premier League fixtures Coote officiated last term, he brandished a total of 84 yellow cards and three reds, sending off two players during Brentford's 2-1 home defeat against Aston Villa in December.
