Newcastle United began 2025 where they left off in 2024, coming from behind to beat Tottenham Hotspur in north London.

And it was more of the same for Bruno Guimarães, who put in another star-studded performance, which was recognised by supporters.

Brazilian midfielder Guimarães set up the Magpies' equalising goal - which came just 140 seconds after Spurs had taken the lead - with a perfectly weighted pass for Anthony Gordon.

And the United captain continued his fine form throughout the rest of the match. The 37 passes he completed and the three total chances he created were both match-leading numbers among his team-mates, while he also won all three of his tackles during the match.

Guimarães earned 33% of the fan vote, very narrowly beating Gordon (32%) to the victory. Martin Dúbravka (27%) and Alexander Isak (7%) also featured in the vote.
