Newcastle United Under-18s were knocked out of the 2024/25 Under-18 Premier League Cup with a game to spare following a 4-1 defeat against Chelsea on Saturday.

The Toon teenagers trailed inside 26 minutes at the Blues' Cobham Training Centre following Sol Gordon's strike before Leo Cardoso's solo effort doubled the hosts' lead on the stroke of half-time.

Logan Watts' strike halved the deficit for the young Magpies on the hour-mark before Cardoso regained Chelsea's two-goal cushion in the closing stages of the Group F clash.

Ryan Kavuma-McQueen rounded off the scoring in stoppage-time, with Newcastle to conclude their Under-18 Premier League campaign with a trip to Stoke City on Saturday, 23rd November (kick-off 11am GMT).

Newcastle United Under-18s: Will Anderson, Leo Shahar (c) (Ezra Tika-Lemba 90), Guy Bloomer, Henry Johnson, Logan Watts, Anthony Munda, Matheos Ferreira, Sam Alabi (Alex O'Donovan 79), Joe Brayson, Sean Neave (Kacey Wooster 79), Trevan Sanusi.

Subs not used: Roman Dowell, Thomas Old.
