Late show sends United to Championship summit (2016/17)
The Magpies climbed into top spot of the Championship following a crucial 2-1 victory at the Amex Stadium, with Mo Diamé and Ayoze Pérez both netting in the closing stages.
Glenn Murray's penalty gave Brighton the lead and looked to be giving Chris Hughton's men a four-point advantage over Rafa Benítez's side.
However, Newcastle managed to come from behind in unusual fashion as Diamé unintentionally looped the ball into the net after Christian's Atsu initial strike struck the Senegalese midfielder before Pérez, who had been on the pitch for seven minutes as a substitute, fired home from Atsu's low cross to seal a dramatic win.
The three points proved vital towards Newcastle going on to lift the Championship trophy, pipping Brighton by a single point on a dramatic final day of the 2016/17 season.
Shelvey's stunning free kick (2016/17)
Newcastle secured a 2-0 victory at St. James' Park as goals from captain Jamaal Lascelles and Jonjo Shelvey, the midfielder's first for the Magpies, set United on their way to a third successive Championship victory.
Lascelles' brilliant header from Matt Ritchie's free-kick put the home side ahead before Brighton were reduced to ten men as Sam Baldock was dismissed for a second bookable offence.
Shelvey doubled Newcastle's advantage by curling a 25-yard free kick up and around the Brighton wall, with the ball flying into the net to mark a marvellous maiden strike in Newcastle colours.
Keegan signs off in style (1983/84)
Newcastle ended their 1983/84 campaign on a high with a 3-1 victory on the final day of the season at St. James' Park, with fan favourite Kevin Keegan retiring after the Second Division clash.
The Magpies finished ten points clear of Manchester City and Grimsby Town to secure promotion to Division One, with Keegan scoring the opening goal before second half strikes from Chris Waddle and Peter Beardsley ensured the victory in front of over 36,000 spectators.
Keegan's final competitive outing of a dazzling playing career saw the two-time Ballon D'Or winner reach a significant milestone - his 500th English league match.
Mick's hat-trick downs Brighton (1989/90)
Newcastle's summer signing, Mick Quinn, took little time to make an impact with the Magpies, grabbing a hat-trick as the Magpies cruised to a 3-0 victory on the South coast.
It was not the first time Quinn had netted a treble for his new club, with the Liverpool-born forward scoring four on his debut against Leeds United at St. James' Park and the striker's heroics against the Seagulls took Quinn's goalscoring tally to an impressive 14 goals in 13 Second Division matches.
During his first season for the Magpies, Quinn scored 32 league goals, becoming the Football's League top goalscorer in the 1989/90 season but Tyneside's new number nine was unable to guide Newcastle into the First Division after play-off agony against local rivals Sunderland.
Waddle's winner (1983/84)
Chris Waddle was the hero for Newcastle as the former England international, who began his professional career with the Magpies, netted in a 1-0 triumph over Brighton.
The Felling-born midfielder grabbed the winning goal in the second half as United, managed by Arthur Cox, climbed into third place of the Second Division where they would eventually finish in the 1983/84 season, clinching promotion to Division One for the first time in six years.
