Martin Atkinson will be the referee for Newcastle United's Premier League visit of Norwich City on Saturday afternoon (kick-off 3pm GMT).

This will be the Bradford-born official's fifth Premier League fixture involving the Magpies this season, all of which have taken place at St. James' Park.

The 48-year-old took charge of United's opening-day defeat to Arsenal along with September's goalless draw against Brighton & Hove Albion, a 2-1 victory against AFC Bournemouth and the Magpies' defeat to Leicester City on New Years' Day.

Atkinson has refereed 23 games in total this term, including 20 top-flight encounters, showing 67 yellow cards and three reds.

Since his promotion to the Select Group of Referees in 2005, Atkinson has refereed a number of notable matches such as the 2011 FA Cup final and the 2014 League Cup final.

On Saturday, Atkinson will be assisted by Constantine Hatzidakis and Eddie Smart while Darren England will be the fourth official. Peter Bankes is the Video Assistant Referee and will be aided by Scott Ledger.
